No jarred sauce household
We are a ”no jarred sauce” household which means when it’s pasta night, I’m whipping up something fresh! It's easy to make, requires minimal chopping and prep, and can be made vegan with vegan parmesan. Skip the added sugars and oils of jarred sauces and whip up this homemade version instead. It's ready in the same amount of time and is sure to be a drool-worthy addition to your pasta night. Give it a try and see for yourself just how delicious and satisfying homemade pasta sauce can be.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves of garlic sliced
1 container cherry tomatoes
1 tsp red pepper flakes (to taste)
4 basil leaves
1/2 cup of pasta water
1/4 cup of parmesan (or vegan parm)
Preparation
1. Heat oil in pan, then add garlic.
2. Once garlic begins to brown add sliced tomatoes and chili flakes. The tomatoes will break down to further form the sauce.
3. Cook pasta separately and once al dente, add pasta into the pan. Then ladle in the pasta water.
4. Top with basil and parmesan and mix until combined. Garnish with additional parmesan and enjoy!
