Cucumber Lavender Spritz

The first mocktail

When you go from drinking alcohol without limitations for almost a decade, to reducing consumption by 95% plus, it’s a transition.

Whenever we change our habits, there’s a lot of unlearning and relearning we have to do. Right now I’m working on unlearning my reliance on alcohol in social settings, unlearning the feeling that I need a drink to be cool, fun, charismatic, etc., and unlearning the mask I’ve hid behind to express myself while under the influence.

I’ve found that with all the change, it’s equally important to reinforce with positive actions to form new habits. So while I break away from social stigmas, I’ve decided to dive head first into the art of making mocktails. This way I can still partake in the enjoyment of having a cocktail after work, in social settings, and the moments of drinking I’ve always loved. This brings a new exciting challenge for me and I’m so excited to share with all of you!
